Options explored in this session will be: types of boards, value of boards, value of board service, strategies to be invited into board service, and tips on how to ensure that your time and talents in board service are optimized.
Jim used to be President of The Governance Institute, helped form Allina, and holds faculty roles related to health sector governance at Strathmore University in Nairobi Kenya; Cambridge University England; and the School of Public Health at UMN. He recently managed a $200 million USAID Project to strengthen health systems in Afghanistan, countries of Sub Saharan Africa, Haiti, Honduras and Vietnam by strengthening their use of health sector boards.
He works with boards of hospitals, health systems, FQHCs, medical groups, med tech start ups, Credit Unions and a mix of nonprofit community based organizations in the arts, higher education, and social welfare entities.
