DESCRIPTION:ACHE SE MN LPC partnering with University of Minnesota Duluth Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Rochester presents speaker Daniel McLaughlin.\n \nThis presentation will explore the forces that have shaped the current US Healthcare system and its future. Three theories that underlie the systems will be examined: Systems theory\, markets and payment policies. The future will be outlined from the viewpoint of the stakeholders in the system. This session will include group discussions on the role of consumers\, markets and payers in the new American healthcare system.\nLearning Objectives:\n•Understand the systems and market dynamics of the current US healthcare system\n•Understand the challenges and dysfunctions in the system\n•Be able to describe the future from a stakeholder’s perspective\nDaniel McLaughlin\, M.H.A\, is the Director of the Center for Health and Medical Affairs in the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis Minnesota. He is active in teaching\, research and speaking at the University with a special emphasis on health care operations and policy. He is the author of a number of textbooks and management guides published by the American College of Healthcare Executives.  \n
