September 9, 2021 - Message from the Regent Summer 2021

Hello fellow ACHE Members!

As we enter into Fall, we are faced with an unexpected turn of events with COVID-19 – an increased spike in numbers and hospitals once again under tremendous stress. I think most of us saw the light at the end of the tunnel if only we could get everyone vaccinated.  To stay healthy and protect others, I urge everyone who can, please get vaccinated. Our health systems have not had a break from this pandemic in eighteen months, and it is showing in high levels of burnout, job vacancies, and talented care providers leaving the field altogether.

As a professional organization, we all need to step up and do what we can for those on the front line.  We also need to continue to support each other in continuing to strengthen our profession. One way to do that is to engage with ACHE and ACHE MN.  We have held some great events over the past few months, and I am looking forward to additional opportunities in the future. One item that might be of interest is an upcoming chapter town hall (details and registration information below).

I hope everyone can look forward to and enjoy the refreshing weather and renewed hope that a change of season brings – here is to Fall in Minnesota.

Take care,
Helen McIntyre, FACHE
