Health care organizations exist to serve the communities in which they reside. Though community health has always been a focus for these organizations, new regulations require them to take an active role. The health of a community or geographic population has a critical impact on a health care organization’s planning, operations, financial sustainability, outcomes, and success. Due to the implementation of the key components of the health care reform by legislation, it will be even more important that provider organizations are both aware of and responsive to the health status and disease states that are most prevalent in their communities. Not only is a population-based focus the right thing to do, but it may prove to be the financially astute course of action.
Developing High Performing Teams
10:15 – 11:45 a.m.
1.5 ACHE In-Person Education Credits
Panelists: Amy Hart, FACHE, Robert Pastor, FACHE and Lisa Bjerga
Today’s workplace calls for the development of high-performing work teams to manage dynamic health care environments. While positive outcomes are the end goal, it’s impossible to get there without strong processes and collaborative relationships across and within teams. In this session, panelists will share information on the core components of high performing teams, and present strategies to design and implement collaborative work systems. The program will begin with a brief presentation by the moderator, followed by remarks from each of the panelists and a question-and-answer period.
