Current Events in Healthcare – Roundtable

5:15 pm – 6:00 pm Networking / Serving Heavy Appetizers and Beverages
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Current Events Roundtable
Program Description
The Current Events Roundtable will be facilitated by ACHE board members with subject matter expertise provided by Saint Mary’s Health and Human Services Masters Degree Program faculty. The program will aid participants in gaining confidence and competence to identify and apply consensus-driven problem solving to address ongoing issues plaguing healthcare organization, while simulating the chaos of managing & leading in the health sector today.
Often organizational leaders are knowingly and unknowingly avoiding approaches to solving some of the most significant challenges in healthcare and medicine today and much of this has to do with not having clear consensus on one to two specific tactics to drive change. By creating a comfortable and somewhat chaotic learning, capable leaders can come together to identify shared tactics and create consensus to drive change around any number of issues.
Attendees will learn and experience the following:
- Rapidly define the scope of known problems and challenges within the healthcare environment (internal and external to organizations)
- Research and design near-term, tangible solutions (2-3 years)
- Identify and scope out tactics to engage and create consensus with key stakeholders (drivers and recipients)
- Evaluate impact for patients/recipients, professionals/providers, payers, and policymakers/public-at-large (revenue, efficiency, quality, satisfaction)
- Describe how to align resources and agendas to advance tangible solutions (shared messaging to include research/data driven solutions, best practices, innovative solutions to recognizable problems)
