Staff retention continues to be a top priority for most healthcare executives. The upcoming ACHE panel event will delve into the evolving landscape of managing staff morale and retention. Panelists will discuss the essential skills for strong managers, such as communication, empathy, and adaptability. They will explore the new skills needed to meet changing staff expectations for flexible and supportive work environments, emphasizing the importance of good management in retaining frontline personnel who value approachability, support, and transparency from their managers.

The event will also highlight the significance of coaching and mentoring in developing staff skills and career growth. Panelists will address the ongoing challenge of staff retention, particularly in high-stress roles, and share best practices for retaining staff, such as offering professional development opportunities, creating a supportive work environment, and recognizing employee achievements. Senior management’s role in fostering long-term employee engagement by promoting a culture of respect, providing growth opportunities, and maintaining open communication channels will also be discussed.
